About this place
Kokoro’s signature Kokoro-yaki is a pork modern-yaki: okonomiyaki layered with salt yakisoba. One diner described a substantial dish built from a thin egg layer, okonomiyaki batter, thick noodles with a firm bite and pork as thick as a steak. They were able to choose between mustard mayonnaise and regular mayonnaise. Another diner also remembered the signature pork as thick and juicy. It’s a satisfying choice when you’re in the mood for a generous portion.
Okonomiyaki options start with pork or squid. There’s a mixed version with pork, squid and prawns, as well as one made with abura-kasu, beef intestines fried until crisp. Beef tendon and konjac, cheese and mochi are among the other options. Oyster okonomiyaki is listed as a winter special. You could add teppan-grilled dishes such as tonpeiyaki or pork kimchi, or choose soba meshi fried rice with abura-kasu and beef tendon and konjac for a different kind of meal.
To go with your meal, there’s beer served in a medium mug, highballs and non-alcoholic beer. Near Sumiyoshi Taisha, Kokoro offers lunch and dinner menus, with dine-in, reservations and takeout available.
